The Challenge

Hereford Sixth Form College’s old site had been around since 2014. It was dated, rigid, and made it hard for the team to keep pace with recruitment campaigns or day-to-day comms. Editors were stuck fighting restrictive templates, and the overall experience no longer reflected the quality of the College - especially with its Outstanding Ofsted rating.

Objective

The goal was to give the marketing team freedom. They needed a site that could support a packed communications calendar, feel aligned with the College’s high standards, meet accessibility requirements, and most importantly, help drive recruitment.

Approach

We started by listening. A full series of stakeholder interviews helped us get under the skin of what the site really needed to do - and where the old one fell short. From senior staff and marketing leads to student support and admin teams, everyone had input. That research shaped the whole build.

We mapped out key user journeys for students, parents and staff, then designed a clean, easy-to-navigate site that brought the College’s brand to life online. The new site looks sharp, feels modern, and works hard to connect users to the right content, fast.

A Growing Partnership

Our work with Hereford started off the back of a successful rebuild for Heart of Mercia Trust. We delivered there - and earned the chance to do it again, this time with the College.

They’d been boxed in by a clunky, restrictive template for too long. Now, they’ve got a powerful, flexible platform that gives their team full control. No blockers. No bottlenecks. Just the freedom to build what they need, when they need it.

With more schools in the Trust already eyeing an upgrade, we’re excited to keep the momentum going.
